2025 so far
Wow, I realized it has been quite a while since I wrote a blog ! It seems like March - August this year FLEW by. Am I right ? I saw a ‘meme’ the other week that said
“ It’s August, but mentally I am still in June with a to do list from March ! “ Boy did that have me laughing . Definitely agree on that one. While it has been busy, I still took time intentionally this year to be off the gram or to just sit and enjoy the beauty around me. Soaking in the little moments when I can .
A quick recap personally before I share all the pretty photos from the last several months .
In March we took our first ever Caribbean cruise - so much fun ! It was a whole new level of relaxing that we are not used too but whole heartedly enjoyed . The trip was refreshing for Jordan & I. After we returned, life seemed to kick in and well, here it is August. Planted a garden for the first time at this new place and it’s growing so well - lots of gourds , tomatoes, peppers and beans coming out of it. In May, Jordan was in our friends wedding & I was the photographer - loved it ! It was an honor to walk beside our friends from the very beginning of the relationship and watch them say their vows.
I planted a flower patch garden in April, both for business and personal use. Learned from a few mistakes for next years planting and have some new ideas for it - i’ll share the photos below !
The wedding season for me started in March and just kept going. From the middle of May - Middle of June I shot half my weddings for the year…maybe I won’t do that again 🤣 It is keeping me on a tight editing deadline . I saw several new venues this year and returned to a few familiar ones that I love. My couples this year have been amazing. In love and not afraid to show it. I’ve had a few ‘love comes softly ‘ couples and then the energetic , crazy in love couples this year. Sometimes all in the same weekend - definitely makes your brain work harder switching back and forth. But I love the uniqueness of each couple & wedding !
The Spring/ Summer weddings this year really showed me a few things :
-the love and support from family. Some weddings really relied heavily on help from friends/ family to pull it off. It was amazing to see this.
- If you love color, use it in your wedding ! Don’t stay neutral because that’s the trend. Be you ! Some of the bouquets/florals this season have just blown me away !
-Take time. Time to enjoy your new spouse. Time with your girlfriends. Time with your grandparents catching up.
-Create the memories. I walked away this Spring/ Summer season with some really good candid moments that will be some of my favorites. Maybe a new insta post sometime soon with those ?!
I am gearing up for the Fall season to start in just 2 WEEKS . Crazy. My favorite season of the entire year. Enjoy some beautiful photos ❤️
